Mission Statement
The Osgoode Hall Law School Black Law Students’ Association has two main goals:
- To promote diversity in the legal profession by increasing access to legal education for persons who identify as African Canadian/Black or have a demonstrated interest in issues that affect the African Canadian/Black community;
- To facilitate professional advancement of those persons through mentoring and networking opportunities.”
The Black Law Students’ Association (BLSA) at Osgoode Hall Law School is an affiliate of the Black Law Students’ Association of Canada (BLSAC), a national, not-for-profit organization. BLSA was formed to identify and work towards the removal of institutionalized and other barriers facing African/Black Canadians in relation to law school and the legal profession. The Osgoode Chapter is firmly committed to helping its members excel in both law school and the legal profession. Through educational and social events, members will be given the opportunity to meet with and learn from their fellow law students.
