The Black Excellence Student Awards seek to recognize self-identifying Black law students who embody the characteristics set out in BLSA’s mandate and have made positive contributions within their law school and/or the Black Community outside of the school. These awards serve to highlight students who embody the characteristics and values of leadership, mentorship, teamwork, positivity and community support and development through their contributions to the Black Community within and outside of law school

Individuals seeking to have their contributions recognized may self-nominate or be nominated by others for one or multiple awards. Seven Award recipients will be announced at the Black Excellence Gala held on March 23, 2023.
